BASIC BAKED CUSTARD PIE
Beat eggs slightly; then add remaining ingredients except nutmeg and pie shell. Pour into chilled pie shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Bake at 400ºF for 25-35 minutes or til knife comes out clean when inserted in center of pie. Cool 30 min. then chill til ready to serve.
Coconut Custard: Omit nutmeg and add 1 c flaked coconut to custard. Sprinkle with a little coconut on top and bake.
Maple Nut Custard: Omit nutmeg. Drizzle a little maple syrup over pie and sprinkle with chopped walnuts or almonds.
