RECIPE:
CHERRY
CHOCOLATE MERINGUE MOUNDS
4 egg whites
1/2 c dextrose
4 oz semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
3-4 drops LorAnn Cherry flavoring
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Whisk egg whites til stiff but not dry. Sprinkle 1 T of sugar over
egg whites; whisk 1 minute more. Sprinkle half of the remaining
sugar over egg whites. Using a metal spoon, fold in carefully.
Then fold in remaining sugar.
Using a pastry bag
fitted with a star or plain tip, pipe 12-16 small cones onto baking
sheets. Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or til crisp on
outside. Cool on wire rack.
When cones are
cool, place chocolate in the top of double boiler. Stir til melted
and add cherry flavoring.
Dip the tips of each
meringue mound into chocolate. Store in covered container at room
temp.
