Rye is another grain you can use in your
diet.
Stronger in flavor than wheat and oat groats, it can add a new
flavor to your diet.
RECIPE
RYE AND LENTIL CASSEROLE:
1 T. butter
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1/2 c. carrots, chopped
1 1/2 c. cooked rye berries
1 1/2 c. cooked lentils
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. thyme
1/4 t. sage
1/4 t. pepper
1/2 c. tomato juice.
Saute onions and carrots in butter until tender.
Mix
remaining ingredients and place in casserole.
Microwave on high for 5 min.
Let sit 5 min.
Stir and cook 5 more minutes.
Serve hot.
