Anise Star pods, 75% whole

Star Anise is named for its distinctive shape. The pods are used in
Asian cookery, notably as an ingredient of Chinese 5 spice powder.
When used as a substitute for anise
flavoring, it is somewhat more intense in flavor. It is also
incorporated in pot pourri for is aromatic properties.
The oil from Star Anise is used in soaps, hair
oils and Asian perfumes.
In home remedies, it has historically been used
for appetite enhancing, to relieve chest complaints, rheumatism and
flatulence. It is unknown at this time if any research has been done
to validate these home remedy uses. |
