Blackberries Sugar Pectin

Blackberry are the first ingredient
in our blackberry jam. Just
like grandma, we select only the best berries.
We cook and puree them. Then
we add a little sugar (about 1/3 what grandma used to add), a little lemon
juice and some pectin and cook some more til we have jam.
Then we bottle the jam and seal with a lid not wax as grandma did.
We don’t use any artificial colors,
preservatives, or corn syrup in our blackberry Jam.
It is great on toast or muffins. We’ve used it as a topping for ice cream, as the middle
icing in a 2-layer cake, and for jam thumbprint cookies. Top your oatmeal or cream of wheat with a little dollop of
blackberry jam.
