Asparagus, dried

Dried asparagus powder is an excellent
addition to dips, sauces, soups, smoothies and stews.
It can be
used to replace some of the flour in breads and baked goods to produce
some interesting foods. You can replace up to 1/4 c of flour with dried
asparagus powder in your favorite recipe.
In your favorite pasta recipes, start by adding 1 T of asparagus powder and adjust according to the intensity of flavor
you prefer.
Dried asparagus powder can also be used as a
natural colorant to foods. This is especially helpful if you are
trying to color yogurt coating for dog biscuits.
Asparagus is high in folacin, thiamin, B6, rutin and
contains glutathione. It contains no cholesterol and is very low in sodium
and calories.
